The convergence of the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Saguenay River is a prime feeding ground for the largest animal on earth – the Blue Whale. Their size ranges from 70 to over 90 feet, double that of a Humpback Whale and over twice the length of our 41’ sailboat Kyanna. Blue Whales feed on billions of mini shrimp called krill eating up to 4 tons every day each. We were thrilled and apprehensive when these colossal mammals came within 50 feet of our floating home. Needless to say, the opportunity for amazing photography was abundant. I like the almost black and white quality to these images, though they rarely have more than a fraction of their enormous bodies out of the water.
Photography images are printed and shipped by White House Custom Color. The dimensions listed are of the photograph itself, all images printed on paper will have a border for mounting or framing along with a digital signature. Standard US shipping is included. Contact me for custom options.
